Election Party

Aaron and I threw an "Election Extravagazna" with my brothers & sis-in-law. On the Facebook event, my younger brother Matt wrote the description as:

"It's Obama vs. McCain. The outcome decides whether or not the Eley family gets relocated to Canada for the next 4 years."


It looks like we're staying in the United States.

Husband reserved a hotel room tonight in Park City.



We're celebrating my job promotion to a writer, my first article completed, his first freelance job offer, the election outcome, my first time voting, my cut-off from giving plasma, one week with no Cafe Rio, our decision not to move and stay in our current house, buying a full tank of gas under $40, the arrival of the holiday season, making it through Salt Lake's first snow storm of the year, his success in almost getting the BYU-H server up, our washer/dryer and gas oven, my skin showing small signs of adjusting to drier climates, and anything else we deem worth celebrating.

Hello Sick Day, I've been waiting for you

Woke up this morning with my old friend UTI. For those of you who don't know what this is, thank your lucky stars. UTI hasn't been around though since Aaron & I were in Nice, France last May. He was not welcome as I was backpacking in Europe sun-bathing in the French Riviera getting ready for my over-night train to Florence. Forunately, he got the hint and left without any help from any pills. But this morning as I helped Aaron carve his pumpkin for work, UTI decided it was time to poke around in my bladder and make for my kidneys as fast as he could. Lucky the nurse practitioner fit me in right away and now I'm on some fun prescriptions that make my urine orange.

So I'm taking in the weekend a bit early. As these wonderful prescriptions kick in, hopefully I'll be as effective as Erin was on her sick day. I shall spend this afternoon taking picture of the Fall leaves before they leave me.
